Director Division of Water Quality This letter is to notify you that staff of the Washington Regional Office of the Division of Water Quality conducted a compliance inspection at the stormwater treatment facilities serving Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum on March 1, 2007. A copy of the inspection report is included for your review. Please note the concems indicated under the comments section of the report. This inspection was conducted in connection with your request for renewal of permit SW7970407. This inspection revealed that the permitted infiltration area has not been satisfactorily maintained which is a violation of permit SW7970407. Specifically, the inspection revealed that there is a lack of vegetative cover in the infiltration zones. Part II 2., 3., and 4 of permit SW7970115 issued May 12, 1997 addresses the operation and maintenance requirements for your system. These conditions require that the facilities be properly maintained and operated at all times and that records of the maintenance activities must be kept and made available upon request. It was also noted that the system was not built according to the plans and specifications that were submitted for your permit. You must at once request a modification to the permit with the as built plans and specifications. Please submit a proposed list of maintenance activities and schedule for the re -vegetation along with the modification request within 30 days of receipt of this letter. All work should be completed no later than May 31, 2007.
