Site topography is relatively flat with a gentle slope from the project's west boundary towards the east. Vegetation consists primarily of minor ground cover. Subsurface soils are Meggett loam as mapped in the USDA / SCS Soil Survey of Pender County, NC. The Engineering Data provided therein show infiltration rates for the subject sands at a depth of approximately four feet: Meggett >2 in/hr 3. PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS: Improvements proposed include the construction of a 4631 s.f. Convenience Store, a Gasoline and Diesel Canopy and associated asphalt parking and a stormwater wet detention basin with collection boxes and pipes. The site will be graded to divert all stormwater runoff from all impervious surfaces to the proposed catch basins and detention area. 4. DRAINAGE CALCULATION CONSIDERATIONS: Attached to this design narrative are the drainage calculations determining the amount of storm water to be contained and treated in the stormwater system. The proposed wet detention design should treat ail runoff from the first inch of rainfall to 90% efficiency. 5. MAINTENANCE CONSIDERATIONS: During construction, the Contractor shall be required to inspect and repair as needed all erosion and stormwater control devices after any significant rain event. Any measure found not performing its intended function, shall be repaired immediately. Upon completion of construction the establishment of permanent ground cover will be a priority.
