ALL FILL SOILS FOR BERM SECTION SHALL BE CLEAN, IMPERMEABLE MATERIAL AND COMPACTED TO AT LEAST 98% STANDARD PROCTOR MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY, AT OPTIMUM MOISTURE CONTENT. NO BLASTED MATERIALS SHALL BE USED IN THE EMBANKMENT CONSTRUCTION. SOILS SHALL NOT EXHIBIT SIGNIFICANT SHRINK/SWELL OR DISPERSIVE CHARACTERISTICS. ON -SITE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER SHALL APPROVE THE SOILS FOR PLACEMENT WITHIN THE BERM SECTION. THE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER SHALL ALSO SPECIFY THE METHODS TO BE USED FOR PLACEMENT OF FILL.
