Subject: Notice of Deficiency (NOD-2021-PC-0387), NCG020158, Ararat Rock Products Co,
Mount Airy Quarry, Surry County
Action Plan
Dear Tamara;
We acknowledge receipt of the above referenced Notice of Deficiency and are herein
responding with this action plan to address the deficiencies described in the letter. We want to
assure you that we intend to take this matter seriously and will address these issues as soon as
possible to bring the site into full compliance.
We will immediately initiate a plan to begin Qualitative and Analytical Monitoring of all
Stormwater outfalls, in compliance with "Part IV, Sections A, B, & C". Further, we will
immediately begin to prepare a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan in compliance with "Part
III", to be completed and implemented within 120 days. We understand that the NPDES
General Stormwater for Mining will be revised as of July 1, and the SWPP will conform to the
new requirements.
It is our sincere wish to bring the site in compliance with the NPDES Permit as quickly as
possible. We understand that a follow-up inspection will occur in 210 calendar days from the
date of your notice. We fully intend to be in complete compliance well before that time. If you
