Description of Significant Industrial Changes During the term of the existing stormwater permit, the Gerdau Long Steel North America facility has not implemented significant changes in industrial activities that affect stormwater discharges. Within the next three years, Gerdau is considering a project for constructing a concrete truck staging area over a portion of a closed/capped landfill located at the site. Since the existing landfill is capped with impervious material, this proposed project is not expected to create a significant quantity of additional stormwater run-off. As part of the engineering review and design of the project, an analysis of stormwater volumes and containment requirements will be conducted.
