VX- SERIES AERATING FOUNTAINS
VX-SERIES AERATING FOUNTAINS ARE:
THE LEAST EXPENSIVE to purchase, maintain, repair, and operate.
COMPLETE with everything you need: control panel with Ground Fault Interrupter and
photo -eye for optional light kit, power cord, and mooring lines.
INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH — designed with heavy-duty stainless steel components for
continuous operation, extended motor life and corrosion prevention (even in salt water.)
ENERGY EFFICIENT — low power consumption makes continuous operation affordable.
DEPENDABLE — units are designed to operate continuously with minimal maintenance.
They are the least likely fountains to clog of any manufacturer because of Kasco's
deflector technology, prop guard, and standard bottom intake screen.
VERSATILE — choose from a variety of power options to address the
aeration needs of virtually any -size body of water. VX-Series Fountains
are available in 1/2, 3/4, 1, 2, and 5 hp sizes. (Also available: 1/4 hp to
7.5 hp Decorative Fountains with multiple spray patterns.) Power cords
are available in 50', 100, 150'and 200' lengths. 250, 300, 400' and 500'
power cord available on 240V single phase and 230V 3 phase units.
EASY TO USE AND INSTALL — fountains are easy to install, move, and
operate. Out of the box and in your pond in one hour or less!
COMPLIANT AND WARRANTED — Approved to UL and CSA
standards by ETL as complete packages. 1/2, 3/4 and 1 hp fountains
have a 2 year manufacturer's warranty; 2 and 5 hp carry a 3 year
manufacturer's warranty.
WHY AERATE YOUR POND?
• Increased circulation and oxygenation of thermal -stratified water helps
to stimulate the natural biodegradation of organic waste (such as grass
clippings, leaves and run-off) and pollutants.
• Oxygen is circulated and absorbed into the water, thereby increasing
aerobic decomposition of sunken organic matter.
• Aeration can help eliminate spring and fall turnover.
• Aeration helps to promote greater densities of fish.
OPTIONAL LIGHT KIT ADDS BEAUTY
Decorative light kits add beauty and interest to your aerated pond. The superior design
of Kasco lighting sets a new quality standard that competitors attempt to achieve!
LR light kits: These bronze light packages are available in two or three light kits. Each
fixture is solid brass, has a clear lens, is internally potted using multiple gaskets, has
thermal overload protection, and comes with clear 75w MR-16 Halogen bulbs. The 1/2
and 3/4 hp units can use a two -light kit or three -light kit depending on your budget and
preferred light level, The 1 hp and larger require a 3-light kit for proper illumination. You
can also add two lighting packages to any 2 or 5 hp unit to create a brighter and more
dramatic display. Kasco also offers 50 watt colored bulbs in red, green, blue and yellow.
LED Light Kits: Available in sets of 3 or 6 permanently sealed light fixturess. Each fixture
includes a waterproof connector allowing for individual replacement in the field. Each
fixture uses only 9 watts of power and has a 50,000 hour bulb life. Will fit any Kasco VX
fountain from 1/2 to 5 HP.
POWER CONTROL CONSERVES ENERGY
VX-Series 120V fountains come standard with a C-25 Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupter (GFCI) in a rain -tight enclosure with 24-hour timer and photo sensor for
optional light kit.
VX-Series 240V fountains come standard with a C-85
(C-95 on 5 hp units) Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) in a rain -tight enclosure,
that offers an external plug-in or internal hardwired connection, a 24-hour timer,
lightning arrestor, and photo sensor for optional light kit.
- J-Series 208V to 230V 3 phase fountains come with 5ma personal trip level GFI,
i adjustable motor starter with over current, overload, and phase unbalance
protection, hands -off -auto switch, and individual timers for motor and lights in a
non-metallic rain -tight enclosure.

Assembly Instructions
Begin by placing the fountain housing on a solid surface, with the pump discharge opening facing up.
2. Tie nylon rope (not included) to the two stainless steel eyebolts. These will be the anchoring lines for the fountain.
3. Next, put the float in place and secure with the two 5/16" x 2" bolts, washers and nuts included.
4. Now, turn. the fountain upside down, remove the styrofoam doughnut, and place the stainless steel filter in place.
Be sure to line up the pre -drilled holes on the fountain with the position marks on the filter. Attach the filter with the
three self -tapping screws provided.
5. At this point, the fountain is ready to be placed in the water for final preparation and anchoring. Care should be used
when handling the fountain, it is very important that the weight of the fountain not be placed upon the stainless
steel filter.
6. Once your fountain is in the water, attach the fountain head by screwing it into place.
7. Float the fountain to the desired position and secure the attached nylon ropes to shore, or use 2 concrete blocks
submerged at least 20 feet apart.
8. The final step is to supply electric power to your fountain, taking extra care to Aways use a ground fault circuit
interrupter and a licensed electrical contractor.

Maintaining your Pond Fountain
Most of our products require very little to any maintenance. Under normal operating conditions, you should enjoy many
years of trouble free service from the unit.
Anchoring ropes, depending on type, will deteriorate over time. These should be replaced every five years if quality nylon
rope (3/8" or thicker) is utilized. When the unit is removed from the water to replace anchoring ropes, it would be a good
opportunity to wash the fountain down with high pressure water. After cleaning, a visual inspection of the entire fountain
is recommended to be certain nothing is restricting water flow. The Scott Aerator Company has engineered all of its
water features to eliminate the need for time consuming and costly winterizing products and procedures. Removing the
Fountain from the water each winter will dry out and potentially damage the pump seals. Simply leave your fountain in the
water, turn the power supply off, and forget about it for the winter. Once the water thaws in the spring, re-establish power
to the unit and you're good to go. All of the components will withstand sub -zero conditions without damage.

Refer to the chart above to determine the proper cable size and length for your particular pump. The maximum lengths listed
are from the pump motor to the circuit breaker, not to the plug in. Improper wire size can cause unsafe operating conditions and
damage the pump. DO NOT use an extension cord to supply power to the motor as this will put strain on and shorten the life of
the pump motor.
