Inspect the wet detention system for sediment accumulation, erosion, trash accumulation, vegetated cover, and general condition- b. Check and clear the orifice of any obstructions such that drawdown of the temporary pool occurs within 2 to 5 days as designed. 2. Repair eroded areas immediately, re -seed as necessary to maintain good vegetative cover, mow vegetative cover to maintain a maximum height of six inches, and remove trash as needed. 3. Inspect and repair the collection system (i.e. catch basins, piping, swales, riprap, etc.) quarterly to maintain proper functioning. 4. Remove accumulated sediment from the wet detention basin system semi-annually or when depth is reduced to 75% of the original design depth (see diagram below). Removed sediment shall be disposed of in an appropriate manner and shall not be handled in a manner that will adversely impact water quality (i.e. stockpiling near a wet detention basin or stream, etc.). The measuring device used to determine the sediment elevation shall be such that it will give an accurate depth reading and not readily penetrate into accumulated sediments. We have added note that no wetlands exist on site. 2. The project area is 8.5 acres and the off -site area is 1.52 acres, for a total drainage area of 10.02 acres. We have enclosed a plan delineating the entire drainage area to the pond. 3. The project's built -upon area percentage in section III, part 4 has been revised. It no longer includes the off -site impervious area. 4. The pond has been revised to provide a permanent pool surface area of 21,998 sf. 5. The flood poos surface area is 24,828 sf with a 3:1 slope. Please review for approval and contact us with any questions or comments. Thank you. Sincerely, Tripp Engineering, P.C. Monica V. Loughlin ISwor4Z Enc. State of North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources s Wilmington Regional Office 1.v James B. Hunt, Jr., Governor Bill Holman, Secretary NCDENR Division of Water Quality NORTH CAROUNA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES August 1, 2000 Mr. Ivans Popkin, Vice President Furniture Fair, Inc. PO Box 1416 Jacksonville, NC 28541 Subject: ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RECEIPT AND REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Stormwater Project No. SW8 000647 Furniture Fair 5810 Market Street New Hanover County Dear Mr. Popkin: The Wilmington Regional Office received a Stormwater Management Permit Application for Furniture Fair 5810 Market Street on June 28, 2000. A preliminary review of that information has determined that the application is not complete. The following information is needed to continue the stormwater review: 1. Delineate all wetlands on site, disturbed or undisturbed, or note on the plans that none exist. 2. Please delineate the entire drainage area to the pond. If the project area is 10.02 acres, and there is 1.52 acres of oftsite drainage from the 3 lots, then the total drainage area reported on the application and used in the calculations should be 11.54 acres. Do not confuse drainage area with project area. Project area does not include offsite areas. From scaling the plans, it appears that the project area is 8.5 acres, and the offsite area is 1.52 acres, for a total drainage area of 10.02 acres. 3. The project's built -upon area percentage reported in Section III, Part 4 should not include the offsite impervious area. Please revise the application and supplement accordingly. The percent impervious reported in Section III, Part 6 does include the offsite impervious, and does not need to be revised. 4. The calculations indicate that the permanent pool surface area is 21,998 ftz, but if you multiply the dimensions provided on the plans, the area is only 20,130 W. Please check and revise. 5. The same thing applies to the flood pool surface area. With a 3:1 slope above permanent pool, the area would be 22,848 ft , not 24,828 fft as reported. The horizontal distance between the 37.5 and the 39 contour measures 7.5' on the plans, which means that a 5:1 slope is provided. If the slope is flatter than 3 :1 above the permanent pool, please indicate so on the details. Please revise as needed. 127 Cardinal Dr. Ext., Wilmington, North Carolina 28405 Telephone 910-395-3900 FAX 910-350-2004 An Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action Employer 50% recycled/10% post -consumer paper Mr. Popkin August 1, 2000 Stormwater Project No. SW8 000647 Please note that this request for additional information is in response to a preliminary review. The request must indicate the date by which you expect to submit the required information. The Division is allowed 90 days from the receipt of a completed application to issue the permit. A proposed building of 33,142 sf will be constructed. An asphalt and stone access and parking area for the building will total 50,418 sf. 3028 sf of concrete sidewalk is also proposed. Allowable impervious area for future development is 180,369 sf as well as 18,000 sf of off -site impervious for three adjacent residential lots. A total of 284,957 sf of impervious area brings the total built upon area to 65.3 % impervious. Stormwater runoff from this site is routed to a proposed wet detention pond designed to exceed state requirements. Detention will capture and treat the first on inch of runoff. This pond will drain to Bradley Creek with a classification of SC HQW.
