Inspection Summary
On June 24, 2020 this facility was inspected for compliance. I met with Eddie Pitts on site. During the inspection, the
following items were noted:
1) The Spill log has not been maintained. The permittee is directed to immediately begin maintaining a list of significant
spills and leaks as outlined in the NCG180000 General Permit.
2) Certification that the outfalls have been evaluated for non-stormwater discharge has not been documented. The permittee
is directed to immediately be non-stormwater discharge evaluations at all facilities, as outlined in the NCG180000 General
Permit.
3) Bernhardt Furniture Company Plant 5 is maintaining large storage areas of woodchips and sawdust exposed to
precipitation on site. As discussed, this process obligates the permittee to obtain coverage under the NCG210000 General
Permit for Plant 5. A copy of the Notice of Intent for that General Permit is enclosed.
