Duke Energy Progress, LLC submits in duplicate the Stormwater Discharge Monitoring Report for W. H.
Weatherspoon. This submission is made in accordance with Part III, Section E of our NPDES Stormwater
Permit No. NCS000589.
SW-2 is in Tier I status due to 12/14/2018 TSS sampling result being above the benchmark value.
Therefore, we are required to conduct monthly monitoring at this outfall until three consecutive sample
results are below the benchmark values or within benchmark range. Neither SW-1, SW-2, or SW-3 had a
discharge in May 2019. The attached table list each day during the month that had rainfall. It also
explains why sampling was not performed on those days.
If there are any questions, please contact either:
• Mr. Kent Tyndall, EHS Professional for the W. H. Weatherspoon Plant; phone (910) 341-4775 or
e-mail Kent.Tyndall@duke-energy.com; or
• Ms. Joyce Dishmon, Environmental Specialist with our Environmental Permitting and Compliance
Group, phone (336) 623-0238 or email Joyce.Dishmon@duke-energy.com.
Please direct all correspondence to Kent Tyndall via the mailing address shown above.
I certify, under penalty of law, that this document and all attachments were prepared under my direction or
supervision in accordance with a system designed to assure that qualified personnel properly gather and evaluate the
information submitted. Based on my inquiry of the person or persons who manage the system, or those persons
directly responsible for gathering the information, the information submitted is, to the best of my knowledge and
belief, true, accurate, and complete. I am aware that there are significant penalties for submitting false information,
including the possibility of fines and imprisonment for knowing violations.
