Application for Coverage Under NCG020000
Pender County
The applicant has applied for coverage under the general permit for pit dewatering
and stormwater associated with a proposed sand mining operation. The site is located
on the south side of NCSR 1100 (Point Caswell Road) just east of NC Highway 53 in
Currie. A consultant and the USACOE have certified that there are no wetlands on
the site. Water is to be pumped from the pit into a dry retention Swale to allow for
infiltration. Water that does not infiltrate will overflow to a drain and flow by sheet
flow toward the Black River, Class C Sw ORW, which is approximately 3,000 feet
away.
This office has no objection to issuance of coverage.
