The purpose of the evaluation was to determine the depth to the seasonal high- water table for a stormwater devices (swales). Two locations were evaluated at each proposed swale location. A SHWT determination was made for the upper (higher elevation) portion of the Swale and one for the end (lower elevation) portion of the swale. The seasonal high-water table determination was made using soil indicators taken from profile descriptions made at the site. The soil profile descriptions were made from hand auger borings. The soil was most similar to the "Norfolk" soil series transitioning to the "Bibb" series in the wetland areas. The Norfolk series is well drained soil found in the Coastal Plain region of North Carolina. The clay mineralogy found in the subsoil was not considered to be expansive in nature and or was considered to have a relatively low shrink/swell potential. The seasonal high-water table determinations are summarized in the table below. The actual water table may vary from soil indicators. This report represents the professional opinion of the evaluating scientist of the seasonal high-water table depth for design purposes.
