INTRODUCTION: Town of Aurora NCO021521 P.O. Box 86 Aurora, NC 27806 5561 July 29, 2015 Abbreviated Field Maintenance Nick Jones Terry Groome and Chuck Bonner This laboratory was inspected by a representative of the North Carolina Wastewater/Groundwater Laboratory Certification (NC WW/GW LC) program to verify its compliance with the requirements of 15A NCAC 2H .0800 for the analysis of environmental samples. GENERAL COMMENTS: The laboratory staff contacted this office for technical assistance regarding Total Residual Chlorine (TRC). Successful technical assistance involving the preparation and analysis of the annual TRC calibration curve verification standards was provided. Standards from numerous serial dilutions covering the working range of the meter were prepared from dehydrated potassium permanganate. These standards were compared to the factory set curve. Each standard and the correlation coefficient of all the standards were within acceptable limits. This was an abbreviated inspection which focused on TRC. The inspector did verify that all of the Findings from the previous inspection conducted on July 18, 2014 had been corrected. The facility has all of the equipment necessary to perform the calibration verification and analysis. Proficiency testing samples for the 2015 proficiency testing calendar year had not been analyzed, but were in house ready to be analyzed. FINDINGS. REQUIREMENTS, COMMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: No findings were noted. PAPER TRAIL INVESTIGATION: No paper trail was performed. V. CONCLUSIONS: No findings were noted during the inspection. The inspector would like to thank the staff for its assistance during the technical assistance process. No response is required.
